The 16 Groups for the 2017/18 Checkatrade Trophy have been revealed for all 48 League One and League Two Clubs and the Exiles have been drawn in Group E where they will take on League Two’s Cheltenham Town and Forest Green Rovers.

The Groups, which are split into Northern and Southern sections, each currently contain three EFL Clubs with a fourth (Category 1 Club) to be added on Wednesday 12 July when the 16 invited Under 21 teams are drawn.

The fixtures will also be confirmed on the 12th July with all Category 1 Teams being drawn away from home.

Which Catergory 1 Team might County play?

With the competition split between North and South regions, Wednesday’s draw will see one of the following teams join County, Cheltenham, and Forest Green in Group E:

Brighton & Hove Albion

Chelsea

Fulham

Reading

Southampton

Swansea City

Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham United

The EFL have said that the Clubs have been placed into their respective Groups in order to minimise overall travel for EFL clubs and fans following feedback from Clubs. This process will be reviewed at the end of the season.
