Newport County AFC are pleased to announce the signing of Ryan Bird on a permanent deal.
The twenty-nine year old striker joins the Exiles in time for Saturday’s Sky Bet League two encounter with Hartlepool United at Rodney Parade.
Ryan began his footballing career at non-league Burnham but an excellent goal scoring record saw him secure a move to Portsmouth in 2013. He spent time at Havant & Waterlooville, Cambridge United, Hartlepool United, Yeovil Town, and finally Eastleigh before moving to South Wales.
Graham Westley had this to say about his new signing: “Ryan has a strong track record in situations like ours and in our league. He is both a target man and an able runner, essential ingredients on our pitch. He provides a perfect platform, especially at home, where his presence will help us to build our attacking game in our opponents’ defensive third.”
