It’s hard to imagine that there will be a more hotly contested goal of the month contest for the Club this season. When Mickey scored his screamer at Stevenage, we in the media department immediately described it as “Goal of the Season”. Seems a little premature now but how were we to know that just weeks later, Frank Nouble would pull off his own wondergoal in front of the Rodney Parade crowd?
There were also iconic (if less brilliant) goals vs Leeds United and Coventry City, and Shawn McCoulsky always seemed to be in the right place at the right time against Southend. Meanwhile, U18s players Michael Cook has been scoring some spectacular goals for the Young Exiles.
