On the 1st April, there was a bucket collection taking place at Rodney Parade to help fund a statue for local sporting hero, David Pearce.
The collectors raised over £350 and we would like to thank everyone who donated for their generosity and support for this excellent cause. The Club also presented Luke Pearce, David's nephew, with a signed shirt which will be auctioned to raise money for the statue which will be built facing the St Joseph's boxing gym where he trained.
He lived not far from Somerton Park and used to join the County Players in the gym.
