MARK BYRNE: 'WE KNOW IT IS A BIG MONTH AHEAD'

The captain expects a positive reaction from the squad, following Tuesday's defeat.

Talking to the press after the game against Crawley, Byrne admitted that the side struggled to find the rhythm that has seen the team go through February unbeaten.

"We never really got going throughout the match. There was a period at the start of the second half when we tried to dominate play, but we now have to dust ourselves off and go again on Saturday," said the skipper.

"We were on a nice little run before Tuesday, but that good run is over and we now have to put Tuesday's result behind us."

With seven games left in March, the captain knows that the month ahead is crucial to the outcome of the season and is looking forward to playing at Rodney Parade on Saturday, where the side have picked up back-to-back wins.

"We know it is a big month ahead of us, with games coming thick and fast and we just have to take each game as it comes."

"You can see over the past few weeks the lads have all put in big shifts and we know what we are capable of as a team. We have to keep going and dig out results, we have games in hand on the teams around us, but I would rather us have the points on the board."

"We have a big game Saturday at Rodney Parade and I am expecting the boys to put in a big shift in at home in front of our fans, and we know that we are going to need every single member of the squad, as there are lots of games coming up."
