Happy New Year to all our Trust members...
This is the eighth of our communications and the first of what will now become a monthly communication. With the regular communications coming out of the club it seems prudent to move to a monthly issue.
Football League Submission
Just before Christmas we provided some further information to the Football League in support of our submission. We believe they now have everything they need for this to progress.
We will be following up with them over the next two weeks and will provide an update when we have one.
Share Certificate - Issue of
We have covered this in previous communications and had hoped to be in a position to issue certificates before now. This has not been possible due to missing information from a proportion of applications.
Simon Sadler is working hard to resolve and many of you would have received emails in an attempt to conclude.
We will keep you updated on this matter and hope to be in a position by the end of this month to commence issuing.
Directors Video
James Hayhoe - Head of communications along with Glyn Neale recently interviewed the club Directors covering a wide range of issues.
The video can be found on the club website and the club's YouTube channel.

Emirates FA Cup Match - Blackburn Rovers 9th January 2015
There has been a significant amount of work going on since the third round draw was announced, when we welcome Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
Club officials supported by the Board have been putting place plans to make sure we maximise the potential of the tie.
To mark the occasion ex players with an association with both clubs have been invited and we look forward to welcoming Nathan Blake and Darren Peacock. Both will take part in a question and answer session hosted by Rob Philips (radio wales) for those enjoying hospitality.
In addition the club has invited ex- players who played for the club the last time we were in the third round of the FA Cup. For those old enough to remember this was 30 years ago and was against Sunderland where we lost 2 - 0. At the time of writing we have had confirmation from Lee Kendall and his Mum (representing Mark who is sadly no longer with us) John Relish, Leighton James, Steve Mardenborough and Darren Peacock. We are hopeful of tempting a few moreā¦
.hereWe are urging fans to buy tickets in advance as we are expecting our biggest crowd of the season. You may have seen the recent communication we issued following welcomed feedback from the Plymouth game. Read the article
This forthcoming week will see a number of advertisements in support of the FA Cup tie including an interview with a player from the 86 team. Please look out for these through our normal communication channels.
The club shop has half Newport and half Blackburn scarfs to recognise the occasion. There is only a limited number so get in early to avoid missing out.
Lets hope the weather is kind to us this week!
David Hando
Our President David Hando was recently recognised in the New Years Honours list for services to the City as well has his beloved Newport County AFC.
A wonderful honour and well deserved given his service and commitment that continues today.
The club had invited David and his family to the Hartlepool game to mark the achievement. This will be re-arranged for later in the season.
Our congratulations to David.
Elections
A key part of our share offering was the democratic elections.
This still remains a firm commitment and building on what we shared at our open meeting in November we will begin the process week commencing 11th January. This will be an incremental process (as relayed previously)
Information has been on the Trust website for sometime as part of the initial share offering and this has been complemented when the new constitution was passed back in October. Please take the time to have a look at this material.
Fundraising Night
The club is in the process of arranging an evening with an ex professional footballer to be held in March.
The event will be a good opportunity to raise funds for the club as well as enjoying an evening in the company of a prominent figure.
More details to follow soon.
DSA
Our Friends at the Disabled Supporters Association (DSA) have been in dialogue with Newport council and the community team looking to launch a scheme to assist housebound supporters by helping them attend games. A great initiative and one the club are fully supportive of.
