THE EXILES SECURE THE LOAN SIGNING OF CONOR WILKINSON

The Exiles add striker Conor Wilkinson to their ranks…

Newport County AFC are pleased to announce the loan signing of Conor Wilkinson from Bolton Wanderers.

The twenty year old striker signs for the Exiles on a one month emergency loan deal.

Conor, who started his career with Millwall, has been on the books with Bolton since 2013.

During his time with the Wanderers, Conor has gained first-team experience in addition to successful loan spells at Chester, Torquay, Oldham and more recently at Barnsley.

As well as his experience of the Football League, the forward has also represented the Republic of Ireland at U21 level and joins the Exiles in time for Saturday’s visit of Dagenham and Redbridge.

Speaking about the signing of Conor, Manager Warren Feeney said: “Conor has great experience of playing in the league above.”

“He comes from a good football background and he has a great size and ability.”

“I want players that will bring high energy and a strong work ethic and Conor will add that to the squad.”

“It’s good that we now have competition for places, as it keeps all players on their toes.”

Conor’s initial loan deal with the Club will run to up to and including 20th February 2016, making him eligible our trip to Exeter City next month.
