A Newport company, that has devised a unique global technology product for the fashion sector, has become a major sponsor of Newport County for the 2016/17 season.
Brand Lab Fashion Technologies was founded by Newport businessman and County fan Dan O’Connell, and the investment sees him re partnering with the Club after being a club sponsor during the Spytty Park days.
The deal means that the away stand at Rodney Parade will now be known as the ‘BrandLab Away Stand’ and makes a major statement in terms of the Club’s relationship with local businesses.
BrandLab CEO Jennifer Drury commented, “Our company offers a global solution for the fashion industry and we have offices in London and Milan, however we are a Newport company and are delighted to be able to support our hometown football club.”
The deal is the first major deal struck since the recent appointment of Michael Flynn as the club’s Football and Business Development Director.
Dan O’Connell, founder of BrandLab said, “There has been a misconception that the club has not been engaging with business people."
"Since Mike Flynn's appointment he has been working hard to facilitate new investment into the club and I was delighted with his passion and enthusiasm as well as the clear and robust strategy for the club."
"All of us at the company are enthused at the player recruitment and we are looking forward to getting behind the team for the season ahead."
