Midfielder Joss Labadie gives his thoughts in the build-up to Saturday's fixture against Crewe Alexandra at Rodney Parade.
County playmaker Joss Labadie believes that strong performances against the top teams in the division proves the strength of the squad that Warren Feeney has at his disposal.
"We have played two strong favourites in the league now and we have matched, if not bettered, both of them."
"It has been mentioned what was said after the Luton game, but our players can't wait to get out there Saturday and rectify a bad result."
"We are really confident in our abilities as a squad that we will do well this year."
Shifting focus to our encounter against Crewe this Saturday at Rodney Parade, the midfielder believes that getting a home win early on in the season is vital.
"We will have have a look to see how Crewe set up, but we will approach it like we do any other game and mainly focus on yourselves and the way we want to play."
"It would be nice and it is important to get three points at home so early on in the season."
"Crewe have had a decent start to the season, but as I have said before, we are confident in ourselves and our ability to cause opposition teams problems and we are looking forward to Saturday's game."
