Read a preview of our Emirates FA Cup first-round tie against Brackley Town, as The Exiles begin their FA Cup adventure...
Looking at the home side
County’s opponents in the first-round may be two leagues below them and at the wrong end of the table, but Brackley Town reached the second round of the FA Cup only two seasons ago when they beat Gillingham in a first round replay. They have already played four games in the FA Cup this season, beating Tooting and Mitcham United in the second qualifying round, winning a replay with Rugby Town in the 3rd and setting up their tie with County by beating Bamber Bridge by three goals to nil a fortnight ago.
Getting There
By Car: Exit the M4 at Junction 13 for the A34 towards Oxford but by-pass Oxford by staying on the A34. Join the M40 just before Bichester. Leave the M40 at Junction 10 and take the A43 towards Northampton. After just less than six miles you will reach a roundabout, take the second exit towards Brackley Town Centre. Go straight over the next roundabout passing a Tesco store on the left followed by the Locomotive Inn. Take the next right into Churchill Way and the ground is at the bottom of the road.
By train: If you are intending to travel by train then ensure that you leave yourself plenty of time. The nearest station is over 10 miles away in Banbury. There is a number 500 bus that goes between the two and taxis cost around £20 each way. To make matters worse there is maintenance work going on on the line between Newport and Bristol so there is a replacement bus service between those two stations.
Sunday's game coincides with the .hereRemembrance Sunday Parade in Brackley, further information available
