PRE-LUTON: JOHN SHERIDAN

Manager John Sheridan looks ahead to Saturday's visit of Luton Town...

County's last victory at Rodney Parade came against Saturday's visitors Luton Town on March 17th, when The Exiles picked up a 1-0 victory over the Hatters, courtesy of an Aaron O'Connor goal.

Speaking ahead of the weekend's fixture, Manager John Sheridan told the press that he wanted to make Rodney Parade a difficult place for teams to visit.

"It will be a tough game as they are one of the fancied teams in the division and I expect them to there or thereabouts come the end of the season." said Sheridan

"I have a lot of respect for their manager John Still and he has a lot of experience of managing in this division, but I think he will know that they are in for a tough game when they visit us."

"I want the opposition to feel that coming to Newport will be a tough game now and it would be nice to get a win at home to give the supporters something to cheer about."

"I always feel that you have to be brave when you are playing at home and not to worry about making mistakes and this is what I'm trying to relay to the players."

Giving an update on the injury list, John added that the knock to defender Scot Bennett wasn't as bad as first feared.

"He is a lot better than what he was. There are one or two carrying little knocks, but you expect that playing on Saturday and Tuesday, because there isn't much time to recover. There are a couple of players who haven't trained, but I am confident they will be fit for Saturday."
