BODDY TO LEAVE COUNTY

BODDY TO LEAVE COUNTY

Newport County Chief Executive Dave Boddy is leaving the Club after 2 years at the helm.

Boddy, who is leaving to pursue a new business venture, became the Club’s first Chief Executive at the beginning of 2013 and has overseen and masterminded the Club’s off the field transition from a Non-League Club to a Football League Club, having been responsible for the non football Business development, administration, operational and policy making.

Boddy said “It’s been a fantastic journey and I’ve loved every minute of it. We have achieved so much both on and off the field during my time here. It’s probably been the most enjoyable period of my football career. Off the field the Club’s admin and structure has had to grow very quickly and we have achieved so much in that time. Amongst the many personal highlights for me the setting up of the Club’s community scheme from scratch to thrive like it is doing under Norman Parselle and his team, and the introductions of two record breaking shirts sponsors and adding substantial additional partners have been up there.

Newport County AFC is a great club and to me it’s all about the supporters who have been magnificent all the way through. They never ceased to amaze me with their passion, belief and support of the team.”

Newport County AFC Director Howard Greenhaf commented "We would like to thank Dave for his commitment to the Football Club, he has always given 100% in everything he has done and we thank him for this. Dave has been a big part of what we have done here with us going from non-league to Football League during his time with us, we wish him all the best for the future."
