Club President David Hando included in the New Year’s honours list….
The Club were delighted to hear of the inclusion of Club President David Hando in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.
As many County fans know, David was instrumental to the Club reforming in 1989 and has continued to support Newport County AFC by running the Subscription Draw, a valuable stream of income for the Club.
David received the accolade for both his services to football and to the city of Newport.
Director Gavin Foxall added. “What a great achievement for David, his family and the community of Newport. To be recognised in such a way is wonderful news”.
“He was an instrumental part of saving the Club back in 1989 and has carried on that good work ever since and the Club is most appreciative.”
The board of directors have invited David and his family as their special guests for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against Hartlepool United at Rodney Parade.
