Academy Director Grant Kalahar updates us with all the goings-on at the Exiles academy...
Promising youth goalkeeper, Rhys Davies, was injured in the U18's victory over Port Tablot in the FAW Youth Cup at the beginning of the month.
Discussing Rhys' rehab and his road to recovery, Grant Kalahar said, "It is great to see our young keeper Rhys Davies staying strong through his recuperation; already learning upper body lift techniques, using a game ready and analysing keepers."
On spending time witnessing the wider work of the academy, Kalahar added, "I have watched every age group and coach throughout the age categories at least once over the last 2 weeks, with great work going on to create a bright future."
"I have been very impressed with the U16s I took for individual practices at training last night, developing world class basics and the mind set to be a future Newport County AFC player."
"The academy is paying respect to our history with naming core patterns of play a Tynan, Evo (Lee Evans), Sandell and Poole. Youngsters learning the game and our history."
