We take a look at the weekends action across League 2
Burton continued to close in on the League 2 title with a 3-1 win over Northampton Town. The win means that the Brewers need to match or better Shrewsbury Towns result on the weekend to be crowned Champions.Shrewsbury secured their promotion to League 1 with a 1-0 win over Cheltenham in a game which also saw the Robins relegated.
Southend moved above Wycombe and into the third automatic promotion spot, with a 1-0 win over Luton, and Bury also jumped ahead of Wycombe into fourth place with a 2-0 win over Wimbledon at Gigg Lane.
Wycombe conceded four minutes from time to lose by the only goal of the game to Morecambe. The loss means they drop out of the automatic promotion places, and need a win on the final day of the season, and for both Southend and Bury to slip up for them to sneak back into the top three.
Stevenage consolidated their already secured play off place with a 1-0 win over Carlisle whilst Plymouth put themselves just a point away from the play offs with a 3-2 win over Tranmere. Luton's 1-0 loss against has put pay to any realistic chance of them beating Plymouth to the final play off place. They now sit just three points adrift but would need to overcome an eight goal difference to sneak into the play offs.
County secured a top nine finish thanks to the 2-0 win over York, and could move up a place to 8th if they better Luton's result on the weekend.
Both relegation places were finalised on the weekend with Cheltenham joining Tranmere in being demoted to the Football Conference. Tranmere's 3-2 loss to Plymouth signalling an end to their 94 year stay in the Football League.
