Edinburgh secures Defender on permanent deal
Kevin Feely has agreed a deal to join Newport County AFC on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell for the last few months of the previous season.Central defender Feely was a big hit with the County faithful in the 10 games he played from March to May with The Exiles, including scoring the winner in our last game of the season against high flying Rochdale.
This has been a great few weeks for Kevin after making his debut for the Republic of Ireland U21's against a Qatari Olympic XI last week in Aachen.
Manager Justin Edinburgh was glad the perseverance paid off:
'I spoke to Kevin on several occasions and told him he was part of my plans for the future of the club. He expressed his appreciation and certainly enjoyed his time here on loan. It has been a busy time for the lad and it was good for him to see family and friends in Ireland before making a decision and I am delighted he has agreed to sign for Newport County AFC.'
